This Berwyn residence is the product of an exceptional collaboration: three design firms, one construction team, and a family with a clear sense of how they wanted to live. Working alongside Archer Buchanan Architecture, Barbara Gisel Design, and StoneyBank Landscape Design, Cullen Construction coordinated every phase of a project that demanded both precision and adaptability.

Throughout the build, delivery drivers, subcontractors, and even passersby would stop to ask how old the house was. The design was intentionally layered to evoke a Main Line home that had evolved naturally over generations, with additions and refinements over time. In reality, this residence is entirely new, built from the ground up and carefully designed around the exact needs of the family who lives there. That balance between timelessness and functionality was always the intention.

The result is a home of rare coherence. The architecture, interiors, and landscape all speak the same language, each element reinforcing the next. It’s the kind of project that reminds you that the best homes are not simply constructed. They are thoughtfully orchestrated from beginning to end.
